Easy Guide to Soften Your Linen Bedsheets

Linen bedsheets have been popular for generations but now they are becoming more and more popular because of their luxurious properties. These linen sheets are made from natural material and are very visually appealing as well as highly practical which makes them a must have for every bedroom.

However, linen bedsheets can be a little tricky to use if you are using them for the first time as they can be very crisp and stiff in the beginning. This crispness can cause a little discomfort but don’t worry as we know exactly how to make your linen bedsheets soft and cozy.

Washing is the key

The more you will wash your linen bedsheets, the softer they will become as the fibers of the bedsheet will become softer over time. This is why try to wash your linen bedsheets more frequently than your regular bedsheets.

However, carefully read the washing instructions on the pack before washing your bedsheets.

Dryer Balls

When it comes to laundry, dryer balls are a must have accessory as these make your bedsheets extremely soft. This is because, these dryer balls will massage the fabric and make them more flexible. Hence, place around 2 dryer balls with the linen bedsheets in the dryer for that amazingly soft feel.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is known to be a natural fabric softener as it maintains the pH levels by balancing the acidic and alkaline components of the water in which the sheets are being washed.

Start by taking half a cup of baking soda and mix it in a gallon of water, then soak the linen bedsheet in the solution and leave it overnight. Thoroughly wash the bedsheet the next day.

Vinegar

Similar to baking soda, white vinegar is also a natural fabric softener. So, mix a cup of vinegar in a gallon of water and let the bedsheet soak in the solution overnight. Later, thoroughly wash your bedsheet with a mild detergent.

Vinegar will not only make your bedsheets soft, but it will also remove any stains or odor.

Avoid Fabric Softeners and harsh detergents

It is best to avoid the artificial fabric softeners as the chemicals present in the fabric softeners will not work well with your linen bedsheets.

Moreover, harsh detergents will fade the colors and will make the fibers of the bedsheet weak.

Regulate the temperature

Try washing your linen bedsheets in a cool or lukewarm water and avoid hot water to wash your bedsheets. Also, if you are washing your bedsheets in a washing machine, then opt for a gentle cycle.

Now that you know how to make your linen bedsheets soft, you can enjoy the ultimate comfort and softness at night.
